Happy 4th of July, Everybunny!

In the spirit of the upcoming 4th of July holiday, IMHO there’s just no dog more American than a rescue dog. Isn’t that what America is all about?

“Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:

I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”
~ from Emma Lazarus's sonnet, "The New Colossus", written in 1883 and quoted on the Statue of Liberty.

We had just moved into our new home, unpacked, settled in, but looked around and felt it just wasn’t a home yet… it was still missing something. So after having listened enviously for years to all my stories about great dogs who windsurfed and sailed and hiked and picnicked, not to mention providing hours of fine entertainment chasing their tails, my husband came to the perfect conclusion that it was high time we finally had a dog!

From past experience we knew you can’t go wrong with a Snoopy dog. So after searching PetFinder.com and finding that sweet little Beagle-mix, we knew we’d found the perfect match.

Then after we were home, the joy we felt, well it just made me want to sing again like I used to, way back when. And she would sing along, just pouring her little heart out with every note! Christmas came and went and we sang every Christmas carol we knew. Then on to Pavarotti, inspirationals, whatever came to mind. And the music kept on coming, only now it was our very own… so, long story short, we formed our own band and started recording. And that is how we came to be the nature loving duo, Two Bunny Morning… all inspired by this wonderful little rescue dog who rescued me right back.

Why did we choose the name, Two Bunny Morning, you may ask? Because Lily has always loved it when we see a bunny while we’re out on a walk. She’ll watch it curiously, then bark just once and watch it hop into the woods. Then with an impish twinkle in her eye, she’ll turn and smile at me! So what could be more perfect on a morning walk than to see not one but two bunnies to keep each other company?

We hope you and yours all have a fine 4th of July holiday! And please keep singing along! And if you'd like more company, you can find them at PetFinder.com. May the Furs be with you!
